Sea Buckthorn ‘Indian Summer’ was developed as an incredibly hardy cultivar adapted to nutrient poor and drought prone soils. The orange berries from female plants are tart but have a flavour profile of mango and pineapple. The berries are useful in making juice, jams, teas and even skincare products!

Here at Nested, we collect leaves from sea buckthorn in late Summer to make antioxidant rich tea in Winter.

Notes: since these plants are grown from feed and too young to be sexed it will not be known until they mature (around age 3) if they are male or female.
