Sea Buckthorn ‘Hergo’ is a German bred cultivar that produces large crops of sweet fruit. It has slightly fewer thorns than many other sea buckthorn varieties and is one of the best cultivars for exposed sites.
Sea buckthorn leaves can be used to make antioxidant rich tea and its berries are rich in Vitamin C. The berries are tart but have a flavour profile of mango and pineapple. The berries are useful in making juice, jams, teas and even skincare products!
