Raspberry (everbearing red)
Rubus idaeus
Only 5 remaining
Raspberries are an incredibly generous and rewarding plant to grow in the garden. This variety of red raspberry was passed down to us at Nested from my parents. The everbearing plants produce two crops of fruit a season; one in late Spring and one in late Summer.
The berries are very sweet and though we’re not certain of the variety, it likely is Heritage.
Water | Prefers moist soils but fairly drought tolerant once established. |
Soil | Prefers well draining soils with lots of organic soil amendments. |
Light | Prefers full sun (over 8 hours a day). Can also be grown in partial shade but fruit production will be lower. |
Form | 5 ft. tall and 4 ft. wide. Trellis support is recommended. |
Pollination | Self-pollinating. |
Thorns | Yes. |
