'Dallas Cowgirl' is a second year seed grown dahlia from here at Nested. Its cheery bright red exterior petals, pink interior petals and strong stems make it a joy to arrange bouquets with.
'Dallas Cowgirl' is the one known parent for these seeds. Pollinators have done the crossing by bringing pollen from other dahlias. Each seed produces a unique dahlia plant and tubers can be saved from each at the end of the first growing season.
Here at Nested we start our dahlia seeds 4 - 5 weeks prior to planting out. We watch for when the lilacs start to bloom as our signal for when to plant out our dahlia seedlings.
